Hi ~ You are right your mail goes to a plant where the mail is automated by zip code, then address all done by an, "Automated Letter Sorter". - Suggestions:
1. When you receive your mail check the postmark, this will tell you exactly when the mail peice has been processed.
2. Send yourself an mock letter, using your return address in the upper left and (Both addresses are on the front)
3. If you are certain that these items have been sent, call the customer service number (1-800...Etc) and let the representative know that you want to speak to the delivering office - that services your address. (They'll ask your code)
3-a. (Delivery office) - Ask to speak with the Delivery Supervisor and/or the Postmaster and file a verbal complaint
3-b. If both are not available, leave your number and have them return your call, and state that you want to be called back on the same day.
~ Now if you are a new resident, that had submitted a change of address within the past 7-10 days, and if the sender had placed your old address, the mail item goes through the same process (mentioned in #1) and then
to another sorting machine to place your new address.
~ Phone the sender and have them repeat to you your address, many times the sender does not place the suite, apartment or structure numer beside the physical numeral address, EXP: 123 Doe St, #102 ...Etc...
If none of these work, fike a formal complaint, have the Customer service (1-800-Etc...) mail you one, refuse to file over the phone, (you will only get frustrated)
The letter carrier does not make desicions if you are going to get your mail or not, they will not obtruct the delivery of your mail. If this happens there are three reasons, they are:
1. You had submitted a vacation hold.
2. Safety Hazard (dog lose, two dogs lose, and you own a kennel and all of the dogs are lose).
3. No mail receptacle.
